I'm a chap. Not only am I unfamiliar with this guy, but I don't think I ever pronounced his name right - which drives my wife crazy.
I snagged some tickets for her 40th birthday, seeing she has a few of his CDs. On occasion, I have heard Ave Marie from the sound system (although I didn't make the connection back to the singer).
The news traveled quickly in the family, so I knew I hadn't completely botched this one. There was a risk as no jewelry was to be involved in the 40th festivities.
I recognized some of the instrumentals from commercials. The playbill at the concert seemed short, and he started out only singing every three songs. Seriously - my wife didn't appreciate my insight, but I was familiar with the content. BUT, he soon continued the performance way past the listed song set. Duets and recent songs.
If you can, see EsDeeKid live - CDs will never do his voice justice. It is well worth it.
